Description

IMPORTANT NOTE AS OF 5/27: THE NEW DATES FOR THIS CAMP ARE JUNE 15 - AUGUST 7.

This program starts off with testing in bench, squat, slant boards, broad jump, and more during the week of June 1. In the following weeks, students will work on athletic development, weight training, core, and concussion prevention training.

A separate weight training camp, "Weightlifting Readiness," is available for students entering Grades 7 and 8. Note: There are two sessions of this camp (one for boys and one for girls). After you click the "Click to Register" button, you will be prompted to select which session for which you would like to register. Important Scheduling Note: This camp will NOT meet the week of July 4.

 

COVID-19 SAFETY INFORMATION

Arrival/Departure
  • Start times will be staggered.
  • No parents or “extra” people are allowed in the building.
  • Please do not bring unnecessary items to training. Locker rooms will not be used.
  • Please arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to your start time and wait outside the building. Your coach will be out to get you at your scheduled start time.
  • Athletes should maintain the recommended 6-feet social distancing while waiting.
  • Athletes will have their temperature taken using a non-contact thermometer before entering the facility. Students with a temperature over 100.3 will not be allowed to participate.
  • Students should use hand sanitizer before they arrive and when they leave.
  • Wearing a mask is recommended by the Minnesota Department of Health but is not mandatory. 

Groups
  • Each group will consist of 9 athletes and 1 coach. 
  • There will be no intermixing of groups.
  • Students must stay in their groups throughout the duration of the program.  
  • Athletes will be helping to wipe down equipment as needed. Coaches will be able to direct them on this.

Structure
  • Participants will end their workout on the track. They will exit through the gate into the parking lot. 
  • Athletes will not be allowed back in the building. 

Parent/Family Responsibility
  • Please conduct a daily symptom assessment and have your athlete stay home if they are experiencing symptoms.
  • Please notify the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Baeza Tensaie ([email protected]) or Athletic Director Brian Brown ([email protected]) if anyone tests positive or is experiencing symptoms of Covid-19.
